The Arab League will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday at its headquarters in Cairo to discuss the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, the Deputy Secretary-General has revealed.“The meeting is being held at the request of the State of Palestine and will discuss the escalating Israeli aggression against the unarmed Palestinians,” said Ambassador Ahmed Ben Helli. “The meeting will also discuss the Arab steps towards the unprecedented Israeli violence against the holy sites in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and its desecration by extremists under the protection of the occupation authorities.”

The occupied Palestinian territories — the West Bank, Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip — have witnessed clashes for more than a week now due to the incursions by Israeli security forces and Jewish settlers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
