Suspect was arrested last week over Nakba Day shooting of Nadim Nuwara during protest in West Bank town of Beitunia.

The M-16 rifle of a Border Police officer arrested last week has been identified by police forensics as the weapon that killed a Palestinian teenager in May.

The forensics report, which determined that bullet fragments found in the teenager’s body came from the suspect’s gun, was made public Wednesday, when the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court partially lifted a gag order on the case.

The name and identifying details of the Border Police officer, who was arrested last week over the shooting of Nadim Nuwara, are the only elements of the case that remain barred from publication. Nuwara was one of two Palestinian teens killed during a Nakba Day protest in the West Bank town of Beitunia on May 15.
