Clashes In Shufat As Israeli Occupation Minister Enters Refugee Camp

Occupied: Headlines From Palestine

JERUSALEM (Ma’an) — Clashes erupted in the Shufat refugee camp in Jerusalem on Wednesday after the Israeli minister of internal security, Yitzhak Aharonovich, entered the camp.

Sources in the camp said that the Israeli minister entered the camp through a military checkpoint set up on the entrance and walked in its streets.

Palestinian youths threw rocks and empty bottles at him, which forced him to leave the camp, while Israeli forces fired tear-gas bombs and rubber-coated steel bullets.

Israeli forces also fired tear-gas bombs at locals and at a boys’ school; several students suffered tear-gas inhalation and the school was evacuated.
