HEBRON (Ma’an) — Six Palestinians were injured after Israeli forces opened fire on protesters in the southern West Bank city of Hebron on Friday.Clashes erupted between Palestinian protesters and Israeli soldiers in the city after the Hamas movement called for a march against the occupation, concurrent with protests across the West Bank.Palestinian youths threw rocks and Molotov cocktails as Israeli soldiers fired stun grenades, tear-gas bombs, and opened fire with live ammunition and rubber bullets.

An Israeli military spokeswoman said that there was “a riot of about 300 hundred Palestinians hurling rocks, burning tires, and molotov cocktails.”

She said that there were four injuries from live fire and two from rubber bullets.

She said that “no ambulances came to the scene” and the individuals were only “very lightly wounded … so they didn’t need to be evacuated to the hospital.”
