Health of Palestinian Prisoner on 55th day of Hunger Strike Deteriorating

RAMALLAH (Ma’an) — A lawyer for a prisoner rights group said on Friday that the health condition of a hunger-striking prisoner in Israeli custody is deteriorating quickly.A lawyer for the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society lawyer said in a statement that the health condition of Raed Moussa, who has been on hunger strike for 55 days protesting his detention without charge or trial is deteriorating, potentially endangering his health seriously.The lawyer said that Moussa has lost 28 kilograms (62 pounds) since he began his strike, and he is now suffering from liver problems.

Moussa told the lawyer, who visited him at Barzilai Medical Center the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon, that Israeli intelligence authorities are pressuring him to end his strike without his demands being answered or any positive response on his detention.

Moussa added that he will not end his strike until his demands are answered and until he is free.
